DIN 25CrMo4 is a common chromium molybdenum alloy steel.It contains a lower carbon content compared with 42CrMo4.It will be freely machineable in the condition of HRC18-22.DIN 1.7218 has high hardenability without temper brittleness.The weldability of DIN 1.7218 is quite good. It can be used in the manufacture of the corrosive medium under carburizing and quenching condition.

DIN 25CrMo4 is an excellent material for gears, piston pins, crankshafts,and shafts. Examples of applications for 1.7218 steel include structural tubing,connection rods, stem assemblies, tool holders,tubes for transportation of pressurized gases.It is also mainly used for a variety of applications in the oil and gas industry.
1)Preheat DIN 25CrMo4 alloy steel carefully.
2)Raise the forging temperature up to 1150°C.
3)Keep the forging temperature above 850°C.
1)Increase the temperature up to 880°C;
2)Quench DIN 1.7218 material in the oil;
3)Heat 25CrMo4 steel to the temperature around 550°C;
4)Hold at this temperature for 2 hours per 25mm of total thickness;
5)Cool W-Nr 1.7218 alloy steel in the air or furnace.
1)Heat DIN1.7218 rolled steel slowly and thoroughly to 780°C;
2)Cool 25CrMo4 steel in the furnace to the temperature 460°;
3)Complete annealing the steel by air cooling.
1)Increase the temperature to 860°C;
2)Cool 25CrMo4 steel down to room temperature in the air.
