H13 / 1.2344 Tool Steel
AISI H13 / DIN 1.2344 tool steel manufacturers and suppliers, supplied in round rods,square/flat bars, plates, sheets and blocks.Produced as forged, rolled and cold drawn.
H13 steel is a wide used hot-work tool steel according to AISI / ASTM standard, while 1.2344 steel is as per W-Nr Germany standard. It offers wonderful red-hardness with toughness and tools may be water-cooled in service. So the H13 steel has a variety of die applications.

2)H13 steel must be free of heavy scale, deep pitting, laps, porosity, excessive nonmetallic inclusions, seams, cracks, slivers, scale marks, dents, soft and hard spots, pipes or any defects that would detrimentally affect the suitability of 1.2344 steel.
3)Visual examination for H13 die steel shall be made to ensure compliance with the requirements for workmanship, finish, dimensions and tolerances, identification marking and packaging.
The permissible deviation of 1.2344 mold steel shall not exceed 3mm in 1000mm length. This applies also to bars under one meter in length.Measurement is taken on the concave side of AISI H13 mould steel with a straight edge.
DIN 1.2344 die steel annealed hardness values when obtained in accordance with the latest issue of test methods should not exceed 255HB.
1)Heat H13 tool steel slowly and uniformly to 880°C.
2)Soak for 3-4 hours and cool in the furnace to room temperature.
3)Cool 1.2344 tool steel in the furnace to room temperature.
Pre-heat aisi h13 tool steel to the temperature 780°C.Increase the material to the hardening temperature of 1020°C.Soak thoroughly at the temperature for thirty minutes per 25mm,then cool or quench. when heating for hardening,it should not exceed 1020°C.
DIN 1.2344 tool steel should be done with the least possible delay after hardening.Select a suitable tempering temperature, heat slowly and uniformly. When H13 steel has reached the desired temperature, soak for at least one hour per 25mm of whole diameter. Double tempering is recommended. The second tempering should be a repetition of the first.
