5. DIN HS6-5-2 HSS Applications
HS6-5-2 high speed steel is usually used in production of large load, complicated shape, a cutter blade, gear, milling cutter, drilling, tapping knife.DIN HS6-5-2 hss is also good for cold forging die, forging tools,strip cutting machine, heading forming die.
1)Preheat HS6-5-2 high speed steel slowly and uniformly to 880-900°C.
2) Increase the temperature to 1050-1150°C.
3)During the forging,if the temperature of the material drops below 900°C, re heating it.
4)HS6-5-2 tool steel should be cooled slowly after forging.
HS6-5-2 steel should be annealed after hot working. Increase the temperature to 850°C.Keep at this annealing temperature and then furnace cool slowly.The annealed hardness achieved should not be higher than 255 HB.
1)Preheat HS6-5-2 hss steel to 450-500°C ;
2)The temperature up to 850-900°C;
3)Heating the hardening temperature to 1200-1250°C;
4)The HS6-5-2 high speed steel should be heated through and uniformly;
5)Quench in the brine,then complete the quench in the air;
6)HS6-5-2 high speed steel is suitable for vacuum hardening,too.
1)Temper HS6-5-2 hss immediately after quenching;
2)Heat thoroughly and uniformly to the tempering temperature;
3)Hold for more than two hours;
4)Triple tempering is need for HS6-5-2 high speed steel.
